Fruit of Conduct/Actions
Fruit of Conduct/Actions
Part 1 of the teaching is here. Part 2 is here.
A little boy went to the pastor’s
house where the pastor was doing some carpentry work on his garage. After a while the pastor asked why the boy
was watching him. Did the child want to
pick up pointers on carpentry? No, the lad answered. I’m just waiting to hear what you’ll say when
you hit your thumb with the hammer.
Every action comes from what is in the
heart. No matter how good or convincing
someone is, if he is bearing bad fruit, his message should be avoided.

Again, I need to reiterate that our
salvation comes by faith alone, by grace alone, through Christ alone. This can never be taken from you.
There is so much to understand about
how our actions describe the fruit we bear.
Because we are servants of God, our actions should reflect our
servanthood. They also define our doctrines and whether we follow the mind of
Christ. Our faith is demonstrated by our
actions and shows whether we are diligent to walk with Christ.
The fruit we bear is indicative of our
actions, whether good or not. God is
boundless in mercy, strict in justice, and directs everything for the
best. We cannot dispute His will but we
can seek to know its meaning.
The attractiveness of the fruit we
bear is dependent upon how much we allow Christ to work in us to produce that
fruit. That attractiveness allows us to
spread its goodness so that others will be enticed to be grafted into the
Vine.

Proverbs 20:11 |
||
|
|
|
|
Godly people display fruit by:
· Making disciples
· Using their gifts to benefit others
· Leading the lost to Jesus
· Humbly doing good wherever God leads them
We can never know someone’s
heart. We can make assessments according
to the fruit of their lives (their behavior). We Christians all sin, but even when
we do, God has provided 1 John 1:9 for when we do sin.

1 John 3:4-10 |

We are transformed and the fruit we
bear gives testimony to that transformation.
Hypocrites make allowances for gratifying impure desires and lusts. As followers, we see His mercy and become
obedient, grateful, and humble. There is
a bias to loathe sin.
